Keyfactor Announces Intent to Acquire Cofide to Bring Verified Identity to AI Agents and Cloud Workloads
The Cofide team are delighted to announce that we have entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Keyfactor.
As the leader in trust infrastructure for AI and machines, the Keyfactor team’s vision for verifiable cryptographic trust in enterprise environments was clear from our very first conversations; as was the potential for Cofide to provide visibility, control, and security for verified workload and AI agent identities within the Keyfactor Trust Control Plane.
Cofide Connect
Over the last couple of years, we’ve developed a workload identity platform built on the foundation of open standards. Cofide Connect gives every workload and AI agent its own unique, short-lived, cryptographically verified identity, replacing static secrets and API keys with proof of what a workload is. Identities are issued per workload and scoped, enabling identity-first security and robust protection of data and services.
Open standards at enterprise scale
Cofide makes the identity standards practical to operate at enterprise scale. It adds the critical policy, automation, governance, and observability capabilities needed for an enterprise environment and supports a diverse set of workload deployment models - from containers, to VMs, to bare-metal and even serverless workloads. And because it's built on open standards, workload identity stays portable and interoperable instead of being locked to one cloud or vendor.
A modern platform ready for AI agents
Cofide’s workload identity platform has been built in an era of AI, with support for newer generations of workload and compute environments in mind. AI agents are a first-class workload in Cofide, not a retrofit addition.
With AI agents now beginning to proliferate in enterprise environments, customers are using Cofide Credex for policy-based, runtime access to existing APIs and services. Application workloads and AI agents never need to hold long-lived tokens. Credex supports both impersonation and delegation semantics to accurately express the variety of trust relationships between agents and human users. Agent actions are attributed to an agent, as well as the human user that may have authorized the delegation of access.

Cofide extends that platform into the next frontier of workload and AI agent identity, helping customers move beyond static credentials toward cryptographically verified identity at enterprise scale.
Looking ahead
The Cofide team and technology will join Keyfactor where we will continue to develop robust solutions for verified workload identity management. We will share integration and commercialisation plans as they mature.
